Off the Charts

Today was Alyssa's 9 month check up. It's hard to believe that it has already been that long! Anyhow, her doctor announced after charting and calculating that Alyssa has officially "fallen off the charts". She lost weight from her last visit two weeks ago. She hasn't really gained a whole lot from her 6 month check (although she has sprouted an inch).

While not completely surprising, it is a bit discouraging. We finally have her spitting under control (we have found the right balance of food that her body can hold without overflowing). Now we need to increase her calorie intake without increasing the amount of food. The doctor will be giving me a call back to give me a few ideas of how we might do this (high calorie formula, something we can put in her bottles, etc). If she can't find any alternatives such as these, then she will be sending Alyssa to a dietician.

I had been hoping to get Alyssa into something of her own... such as take her to a baby gym class or a music class... but this wasn't what I had in mind. We will be going back in a month for a weigh in. Cross your fingers that she doesn't go backward again.
