Tonight I realized (with Robbie's help) another downside to having an early reader. Robbie was drawing a dinosaur museum and I was labeling his dinosaurs. While I'm getting better at spelling all the various names, I admit that I sometimes fudge it a little... add a Y here, and a TH there. As long as it looks like a long name that's hard to pronounce, I figure I must be close.
Well, I was spelling Ichthyosaurus and he told me "that doesn't look right"... he also did it for Plesiosaur (which I'm certain I did spell incorrectly). I'm a decent speller when I'm paying attention, but it is making me a bit self-conscious that my 4 year old is proofreading my writing for spelling errors.
